challenging journeys and cherished comforts
During my recent trip to Suriname I didn’t spare myself with comforts in order to challenge myself to the fullest, while making sure not to miss out on those countless fleeting moments of immense beauty and rapture. There were many times that the thought arose to give up and spare myself the torture of stinging insects and constant humidity.
Yet I kept going keeping in mind the comfortable embrace of my family awaiting at the end of the journey. Not to mention how they express their love through carefully prepared food with the fresh ‘biological’ ingredients from their own gardens. To experience a hint of my childhood once more.
